The chess career manager
A multiplayer chess career manager. Take a player from junior to grandmaster and world champion against other real players; you make the decisions, your player plays the games.
The closed beta opens in waves. Leave your email and we'll write when there is a place for you.
For people 16 and older.
Pre-registering means you consent to our emails. In the EU, below a certain age that consent needs a parent's approval, and each country sets the age, up to 16. We don't ask where you live, so we use 16 for everyone.
Under 16? Ask a parent or guardian to pre-register with their email address; the invite then reaches them. Meanwhile, follow us below.
We only email you about the beta and the launch, and every email has a one-tap way out. Privacy policy
What to expect
Chess is a solo journey, and so is this. You look after one player from a first junior event to retirement: you plan the training, pick the events and prepare for each opponent; your player plays the games, against careers run by other people. A few minutes a day is enough.
The climb
Every career starts the same way: age 12, rating 800, a starter repertoire and a weekly training routine. Choose a name, a nationality and a look, then earn the first official rating at 1400.
Sections of eight on a pyramid of eight tiers, from Wood to Challenger. Rounds play on fixed weekdays at a fixed hour; the top two go up, the bottom two go down. Some of the eight are careers run by other people.
Sign a contract and play a board for your club in weekend team matches, with promotion and relegation of their own. You play for a club rather than running one: the captain picks the lineup, and transfers happen between seasons.
Above the league sit open tournaments anyone can enter, with a public field, pairings and scheduled rounds, and elite invitationals that pay appearance fees once your reputation earns a seat.
Norms toward International Master and Grandmaster, earned across qualifying events. A place in your federation's team at the Olympiad every second year. And a championship cycle reached by qualification, whose finals are played live as a ceremony and may one day bring different worlds together.
